WHY SHOP AT NEXTSTEP REUSE STORE?

Every purchase you make helps support NextStep's education outreach, job training, and job placement programs. Your purchases help us place technology with children and adults living in foster care, people who experience disabilities, seniors, families leaving domestically violent relationships, migrant worker family members, under funded schools and nonprofits. 

OUR PRODUCTS

Are comprised of donated goods. We test these them to verify functionality. Some items are not tested and are described as such. Please remember we sell nearly all of our items on an AS-IS basis. Please carefully read the entire description before you place your order. Email us if something is unclear to you. We don't warranty the used items we sell. We DO work with a buyer in cases of damage that occurs in shipping.

 

PORTABLE COMPUTERS AND BATTERIES

Batteries are considered consumables and their life span and power duration are not guaranteed. We do, however, promise batteries to be working and able to take a charge (as opposed to dead) at time of purchase. You will have to replace your battery at some future point much like you would a car battery. Batteries are not covered by our warranty.

 

IS THIS SITE SECURE?

Yes. All credit card and login information on our site is encrypted for transmission using industry-standard 256-bit SSL.

 

WARRANTY INFORMATION

All equipment is in good condition based on the age of the hardware. Some items are new. Computers carry a 30-day hardware warranty, and are refurbished (cleaned and tested) by our refurbishing technicians. We run diagnotics on every machine. Notebooks include an AC adapter and working battery. Batteries are consumables and their life span not guaranteed. All sales are final. 

 

We respond to all customer service inquiries promptly. 

 

We reserve the right to refuse any order not meeting our security system criteria.

 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

NextStep shall not be liable for any special or consequential damages that result from the use of, or the inability to use, the materials on this site or the performance of the products, even if NextStep has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Applicable law may not allow the limitation of exclusion of liability or incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

 

TYPOGRAPHICAL ERRORS

In the event that NextStep ReUSE Store product is mistakenly listed at an incorrect price, NextStep reserves the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price. NextStep reserves the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, NextStep shall issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the incorrect price.

 

ARE MY PURCHASES TAX DEDUCTIBLE?

No. When you purchase an item through our online ReUSE Store, you are paying fair market value for the item, therefore, your purchase is not tax-deductible. If you make a monetary donation to a nonprofit organization and you receive a service or product in return, the tax-deductible portion is the difference between the actual value of the item or service and the total contribution amount. We happily accept cash donations!

 

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DOES NEXTSTEP ONLINE REUSE STORE ACCEPT?

NextStep accepts Visa, MasterCard and debit cards with the Visa or MasterCard logo, PayPal, as well as personal checks and money orders. 

 

WHEN WILL MY CREDIT CARD BE CHARGED?

Your credit card will be charged when you submit your order. Your order will be shipped within 1-2 business days.

WHEN WILL MY CREDIT APPEAR?

If we have emailed you agreeing to issue a credit, the credit takes 4-6 days to post to your account once the credit has been run. We process credits within two (2) business days and email you a confirmation.

 

DO I PAY SALES TAX?

There is no sales tax in Oregon.

 

WHEN WILL MY PURCHASE BE SHIPPED?

Your order will be shipped within three business days after receipt of payment. Paying by personal check may delay the shipment of your order by 10–14 days. Orders that are being shipped to an address other than that of the billing address may be delayed by 24-72 hours pending addition verification.

 

HOW ARE SHIPPING FEES DETERMINED?

Shipping charges are pulled directly from the shipping courier’s website and are based on the weight of the merchandise, including the box and packing material. Additional fees may be added for insurance and/or signature required.

DOES NEXTSTEP SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Only orders 10 (10) items or greater are eligible for international shipping. International freight must be arranged by the buyer. We can refer you to a preferred freight-forwarder who can simplify shipping. Prepayment via wire transfer is required. Your best option (on smaller orders) is to arrange for a friend in the USA to order the item on your behalf with their credit card. The item MUST be shipped to their valid credit statement billing address in the USA. Once your friend receives the item, they can forward it to you.

CAN I RETURN AN ITEM THAT WAS DAMAGED IN SHIPPING? 

Items may be returned with prior authorization from us within seven (7) days of receipt if the merchandise was damaged during shipping or if there was a major distortion in the description. Returns will not be accepted without prior authorization. 

WHY IS THE SHIPPING WEIGHT MORE THAN WHAT THE ITEM WEIGHS?

Most major shipping carriers assess additional charges on packages that exceed a certain size (i.e. length x width x height) limit set by the carrier, regardless of the actual package weight, resulting in an Oversize Shipping rate that is calculated using a billable weight larger than the actual package weight. Please note that the weight that appears in the shipper's tracking information may not reflect the billed Oversize rate. MY ORDER ATTEMPTS KEEP "DECLINING"

If your order attempt "DECLINES" or does not go through for any other reason, please first contact your credit card bank directly before re-attempting an order. Please verify: 1) the CVV2 code on your card is correct 2) your credit card statement billing address is accurate 3) a possible preset, daily spending limit (such as $500 or $1000 regardless of your balance or credit limit) is not causing the problem.

 

We do not accept credit cards issued by non-USA banks or orders originated outside the USA. We do NOT ship to third parties (someone other than the credit card holder), freight forwarders, PO Boxes, or military bases.
