We hired Peter M as ReUSE Store tech in November.
We hired Jonathan G in ReUSE sales in November.
Zach B, our Service Tech resigned and moved to Salem.

We are expanding our Service Program and Katana C has moved from Build Trainer to Service Technician 2 and Bailey P has moved from ReUSE Store Sales to Service Tech 1.

We hired Jamie B as our Materials Distribution Specialist in January.
We are bringing Isbel I back to work on grants and fundraising part time.
We are contracting part time with Cindy Ingram Events Promotion to work on our ReART Show in August.

We are seeing a steady increase in hardware donations. We need to address this so we are hiring a Floater. This person will work in business sorting, drive truck, and possibly work in the tech area. Info: and below.

With Bailey moving to the Level 1 Tech position we have a sales position open. We are looking for a English/Spanish speaker who has PC and Mac hardware knowledge and prior sales history. Info: and below.

NextStep is seeing an increase in community donations (YEAH!). We are not sure if this is a new year rush, or a permanent situation. We are looking to hire for a 6 month period to see if the material keeps flowing and can support the position. This is a 32 hour position. We will determine whether we will make this position permanent in June 2010.

Job will involve sorting donations from residents and businesses. When material flow ebbs, the floater will provide support in the refurbishing area as a build trainer and in the recycling warehouse as a driver, or, other duties as assigned.

Successful candidate will be a person who can think on their feet, be a multi-tasker, be bored with routine, and have flexible thinking. This person will need to communicate well and be able to take direction from multiple supervisors (but not at the same time!).

Successful candidate will have the ability to learn our data tracking software. Prior database experience a plus.

Requirements: These are "must haves" of this position.

The ability to lift heavy objects throughout the day.
The ability to bend, stoop, lift, carry.
The ability to stand, walk, and be on concrete.
The ability to work both indoors and outdoors in an active environment.
The ability to work successfully in inclement weather.
The ability to drive a fork lift.
The ability to drive a 14' and 26' box truck (a CDL is not needed for this position).
3 year clean driving record is a must for any applicant.
The ability to communicate effectively.
Intermediate computer skills: familiar with Windows XP, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.

Part of this position may include some training of individuals in computer repair. Prior knowledge welcomed, but, not required. What we are looking for in an applicant is the ability to teach others our refurbishing methods-so if we can train you - you can train volunteers.

If applicant passes first interview, we will require a DMV driving record report. This will cost you $3.00 to obtain from the DMV.

If applicant passes second interview, we will pay for a background check. NextStep works with fragile populations. We have adopted the policy of reviewing the backgrounds of all staff who are hired or rehired.

We are looking to hire this position as soon as possible.

This job requires attention to details, and the application process is a test to see if you can pay attention to details. Applicants who fail to send in complete applications will not be considered.
